Advantage Sports Academy

Advantage Sports Academy Founded in 2012, a public charity that educates students early on healthy lifestyle choices through sports education.

In our ninth year, Advantage Sports Academy has provided consistent after-school athletic opportunity to over 1000 students at 18 elementary schools, both public and private in Hawaii. We have had developing athletes from over 30 schools in Hawaii participate in our various programs. Our goal is to provide the youth in our communities athletic opportunity after school by providing programs that will physically challenge them; develop their self-esteem; and work on their team-building skills. With your help we can continue to work together to impact more communities and give students an ADVANTAGE in their after-school athletic development, and to promote a lifestyle that is healthy and active.

Highlighting one of our first ever instructors for our after-school soccer program. Jon Hedemark grew up in Kailua and has played a big part in the growth of soccer and sports education in the community. His leadership, along with always having a big smile, has impacted many of our keiki. And we are happy to have him back with us this fall! e had our last class of the school year at Wahiawa Elementary today! Working with the students in Wahiawa has been a goal of ours for some time now. With being awarded the State Grant-In-Aid for 2025, we have been able to provide free after-school soccer programs to all communities and socioeconomic statuses in Hawaii. Students not only worked on their physical development, but enrichened their ability to work with others in a positive team environment. We look forward to returning in Fall 2025!

As the 2023-24 school year comes to a close, we'd like to thank everyone for their continued support - it takes a village! Our students and volunteers are very appreciative of our various communities in Hawaii and what they do to help provide after-school programs to our schools. We'd like to share some photos of the keiki and volunteers this past school year - highlighting the opportunity to stay active after school, as well as developing overall as good stewards in the community through our professional curriculum.
