Aloha, ladies! Tomorrow’s Heart Wissom Sister Circle theme is “Finding Your Medicine: Connecting with Land and Lineage.” We’ll awaken into our roots, feel into our own medicine, and remember who we are while coming back home to ourselves.

It has taken all of my strength to pull it together today enough to finish this offering, but I believe in its importance, especially in this moment in time where it feels that we as women are being “put back in our place.”

I love how moody the skies have been this week leading up to Samhain…the Celtic festival we collectively know and celebrate as Halloween and/or Day of the Dead! 🎃

This is the time where we are at the precipice of death as the Earth turns towards winter in the Northern Hemisphere, giving us a moment to pause and reflect on the precious life that has been given to us and to those who have come before us. 🕯️

As we turn our thoughts towards overcoming our darkest fears and remembering our ancestors who have come before, we are given a unique opportunity in the process…the attuning of our own medicine that we were brought to this planet to share. ✨

There are times in life that trigger our anxiety whether we like it or not. In fact, the last couple of weeks have felt anxious for me as I’ve been navigating my own health stuff while holding space for the mental and physical health crises of family members and friends all the while worrying about the environmental and political world at large.

My anecdote in these moments is always somatic. When you feel your thoughts racing and stress building, moving through them is far more powerful of a release than meditating on them. And the less structured this movement is, the better.

This is because anxiety has a way of inviting rigidity into the way we think and feel along with a sense of powerlessness that sneaks in right behind it.

We are designed to move through our feelings, though, and not just to sit with them.

A flexible mind truly starts with a flexible body; the challenge is to not cave in to our thoughts, but rather, to tune in to our feelings which actually reside in our bodies.

Can you let go into the flow of your body’s wisdom as it intuitively guides you towards your healing? I promise you, it always will. 😘

The power of lipstick is always so much fun to play with and not something I have been focusing on as much of lately. The other day, I decided to wear this dusty rose color to work and loved noticing how much more attentive my customers were as well as interactive. Even my husband couldn’t help but take notice when I got home… 😉

What’s most fascinating to me about the psychology of this type of power play is how profound of a personal experience it can be with very little effort. 💄

Yet wearing bold colors of lipstick also takes courage and confidence that is surprisingly (and yet not so surprisingly!) hard for many women to find within themselves. That’s because subconsciously, we fear the history of red lipstick and its connection to the dark arts of rebellion, prostitution, and witchcraft. 🧙🏻

Does the idea of wearing bold lipstick trigger you??

In my upcoming women’s circle, we are going to dive deep into exploring our shadow sides to integrate the feared parts of ourselves and our femininity by sharing our experiences of grief, anger, shame and repression through intimate storytelling and a shared ritual for personal reinvention. You are invited to bring items to create a transformative alter of who you are longing to become, and you will leave embodying this new you by the end of our time together. 💫

What’s fun about this process is that you can do this at any time really.

Take something as simple as deciding to wear bold lipstick, and then commit to doing it every day and watch it completely transform your life! ✨

That’s because when you face the stigmas you have attached to the things you might secretly love and then give yourself permission to enjoy them, you reclaim your power! And when you pair this with letting things go that are no longer serving you, you genuinely make the space to get back the parts of yourself that have been lost. 💥
