Explore opportunities in the field of pet grooming. Learn about the most common dog breeds and their coat types, how to properly handle dogs, basic health care of dogs, preparation for grooming, bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, and hand sc******ng. Discuss the basic equipment needed, proper communication skills with clients, and how professional pet groomers professionally conduct themselves. Study grooming procedures for poodles, head to tail. You'll explore the lamb clip, and how to combine your clipper technique with your scissors technique; the Bichon Frise haircut and the Teddy bear cut.
Learn about the business description and how to start a dog grooming business step by step. Certification in infection control and bloodborne pathogen control.
Class runs 2pm-7pm Monday-Thursday, October 7-10, 2024

The Hawaii/Pacific Basin AHEC, John A. Burns School of Medicine University of Hawaii is offering a Maui Summer Pre-Health C.A.N.O.E. Boot Camp from June 6 - July 29, 2022.
Program Description:
In this bootcamp, students will be immersed with intensive sessions focused on health career exploration and college/career readiness. Students begin with a self-assessment of their abilities which are helped to match them with specific careers followed by lessons focused in leadership which they may apply in their future line of work as a health professional or current roles in student leadership, internships, etc. These leadership topics include but are not limited to: Understanding Motivation, Exploring Multiple Intelligences, Cultural Identity & Success, Communication, and much more!
In addition, students will intermittently meet face to face at the University of Hawaii Maui College for a hands-on Clay Anatomy Workshop followed by a health career panel and interactive lab. This bootcamp is open to rising 12th grade students to college undergrad (associates, bachelors, certificates).

AARP Hawaiʻi is offering a series of webinars for kupuna and others who want to learn more about online technology.
Would you like to learn more about Google maps, Zoom, social media basics, smart TVs and how to protect your privacy online?
AARP Hawaiʻi is offering free online technology classes on Fridays in April and May, at 10 a.m.
All classes will be on Zoom. You must pre-register to get a Zoom link. The classes are available to anyone but aimed at kupuna. You do not have to be an AARP member.

As part of the Kekaulike transfer program and E Hoʻoulu Lāhui Hawaiian Studies program at UH Maui College, courses are being offered tuition-free for eligible students. These courses are being offered in-person with an online section for off-island students or students who are otherwise unable to attend in-person. For more information, visit our website.
Registration priority will be given to:
Continuing degree-seeking UH Maui College Hawaiian students;
Incoming degree-seeking UH Maui College Hawaiian students, either new freshman or transfer students;
UH System community college Hawaiian students;
Current High School students in Maui County intending to attend college in the UH System;
All other UH System students;
Hawaiian community members that are prospective UH Maui College or UH System students.

We are now accepting applications for the Summer 2022 Dental Assisting Certificate Program, which will take place from May 11 - August 17, 2022 (15-weeks). Class lectures will be delivered online via Zoom and in-person labs will be held at the UH Maui College Dental Clinic. In addition, students will perform six (6) clinical rotations at various dental offices.
Full tuition sponsorships are available for Native Hawaiian applicants through our Kealaho'imai grant, as well as for applicants who are unemployed or underemployed (earning less than $20/hour or working less than 20 hours/week) through another grant source offered by UH Maui College called Hana Career Pathways.
