This traditional red striped skirt, red vest, white blouse, red and green over one shoulder cape, cap w/pigtail and leather boots is worn by the flower vendors of Madeira, an Atlantic island belonging to Portugal. Fun Fact… The first immigrants to Hawaii came from Madeira in 1878. Can you believe it!! If you don’t you should stop by our cultural center and see for yourself not just the costumes but the information that we provide for you to enjoy and learn and maybe teach us things we don’t know😁
