Emmanuel Lutheran School Maui Emmanuel Lutheran School is a Preschool to Grade 8 school devoted to the life-long learning of the w The preschool continues to run inside of the sanctuary.

Emmanuel Lutheran School has been on Maui since the mid-1980s. The church was built in 1971 and the preschool program followed a year later. The grade school was not added until the mid-1980s when the church built the 7 classroom building to house the school. The church added a two room modular when enrollment demanded it in 2003. This modular houses sixth and seventh grade. The school purchased l

and to build a bigger school and church in 2005 and is currently in the process of raising the funds necessary to complete the new campus. The school is thriving with a student body that reflects the diversity of our island.

🌺 Pā’ina Night 2026 is in the books, and wow, what a night. 🌺

The courts filled up with ‘ohana, the potluck tables were loaded (shout out to every single one of you who brought a dish 🙌), and the keiki decorated bags with the words we live by: mālama (care), lokomaika’i (kindness), ho’opōmaika’i (bless).

That right there is Emmanuel Lutheran School. Not just a school, one big ’ohana that shows up for each other.

Aloha ELS Ohana 🌺

We are aware the DOE has cancelled school for tomorrow. We are grateful to share that ELS has power and our campus sustained no damage, so we WILL have classes tomorrow. All grades, Preschool through 8th.

God is good, and we are thankful for a safe campus and a healthy ohana. Please continue to lift up our neighbors who are still waiting on power to be restored.

Travel safe, and we will see our keiki in the morning. 🙏

🍎 First day back and the halls are alive again! 🐏

The energy this morning was pure aloha. New shoes, fresh notebooks, and so many big smiles walking through those doors.

🎒 Aloha ELS ohana! Back to School Night is TONIGHT! 🐏

Grades 2 through 8, here is how we are splitting things up so everyone has room to breathe:

📌 Last names A through H: 5:30 PM session
📌 Last names I through Z: 6:15 PM session

Each session starts in the church with a short introduction of our teachers and a few whole school announcements. Have more than one keiki? No worries at all. You will have plenty of time to visit every classroom and meet each teacher.

We cannot wait to see you tonight! 🌺
