Build season is officially underway, and our team has been working diligently. Builders focused on prototyping and assembling key robot mechanisms, while testing ideas and making improvements. Programmers worked on getting the robot up and running, fixing code, updating firmware, and testing the vision systems and controls. New programmers also learned the basics and began writing their own code. Documenters helped behind the scenes, creating a sponsor video, designing team materials, and supporting our fundraiser.

Make sure to check out and subscribe to our YouTube channel (2443: Blue Thunder) where we will be posting our recaps and other additional videos as the season progresses!

The Maui High 2443 Robotics family would like to extend our deepest condolences to Davin and the entire Toguchi Ohana. The tremendous support from Daniel Toguchi and his business truly touched many lives and helped put numerous robotics members on the road to their future goals. It was only through his support that team programs like Blue Thunder Robotics could have achieved such success. His encouragement and smile will be deeply missed. And thank you for all the bottles of water!

• WEEK 6 • 02/10/25-02/01525 • 🛠️💻⚡️•
Our builders finished assembling and wiring the elevator, attached the algae intake, refabricated braces, cut coral pipes, and modified an old robot cart for this year’s bot. Bumpers were sewn and tested, driving practice focused on reef alignment, and final touches like adding a Raspberry Pi, limit switches, and packing tools wrapped up another productive week! 🔩
Our programmers tackled debugging, wiring, and tuning! They refined PID controls for the algae pivot and elevator, tested sensors, adjusted gear ratios, and fine-tuned swerve modules. They also enhanced the scouting app with custom graphs, improved data processing, and streamlined design. Lots of troubleshooting, but major progress was made! 💻
Our documenters updated brochures, posters, and binders, printed fundraiser tickets, and created sponsor stickers for the robot. Pin-making is still in progress with extra hands helping out!
