🌱 Parenting Tip Tuesday: TEACH KINDNESS! 💛
Kindness is something children learn by doing. At this age, they are still learning how to understand feelings, use caring words, and think about how their actions affect others. We can help them practice along the way.
Try these simple ways to teach kindness at home:
💛 Model it. Let your child see you using kind words, helping others, and showing patience.
😊 Talk about feelings. Help them notice how others may be feeling. Try asking, “How do you think that made them feel?”
👏 Notice kindness. When you see your child being helpful or caring, point it out. “You helped your sister pick up her toys. That was kind.”
❤️ Practice caring. Encourage your child to notice when someone needs help and think of a simple way to show they care.
Kindness takes practice. Give children plenty of opportunities to try it at home, at school, and while out in the community.

Who needs a paintbrush when you have two perfectly good hands?!
Our little artists took learning outdoors and turned cardboard into one-of-a-kind artwork for their classroom walls. And judging by those colorful hands and BIG smiles, they understood the assignment! 😄
While it may look like messy fun, there’s plenty of learning happening too. Finger painting gives children opportunities to explore colors and textures, strengthen fine-motor skills, express their creativity, make choices, and create alongside their friends.
The best part? Their masterpieces didn’t end when the paint dried—they became part of their classroom!
There’s something special about children seeing their own creativity displayed in the space where they learn every day.

Parenting Tip Tuesday: FAMILY MEALS MATTER!
Family meals are about so much more than what’s on the plate. Sitting together gives children opportunities to talk, listen, connect, practice social skills, and feel like an important part of the family.
And family meals don’t have to be perfect—or happen every night—to matter! Try these simple ideas:
🍴 Make It a Routine — Find times that work for your family to sit and eat together.
💬 Keep It Conversational — Ask simple questions and give everyone a chance to share.
❤️ Keep It Positive — Focus on connection, not perfection or how much your child eats.
🙌 Let Them Help — Give your child a simple job like setting napkins, stirring, serving, or helping clean up.
Bonus Tip: Try putting screens away during meals when you can. Fewer distractions create more opportunities for conversation and connection.
Remember, it doesn’t have to be a fancy dinner. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, or even a quick meal together can become meaningful family time.
✨ Small conversations today can lead to BIG connections tomorrow!

LET THEM… BE BORED!

You don’t have to fill every moment of your child’s day. Sometimes a little boredom is exactly what they need! 💛

Unstructured time gives children space to imagine, create, problem-solve, explore their interests, and figure out how to entertain themselves.

So the next time you hear, “I’m bored!”, resist the urge to immediately fix it. Give them some time, simple materials, and space to see what they come up with. ✨

Boredom today. BIG ideas tomorrow. 🌱

LET THEM. WATCH THEM GROW.

🌱 Parenting Tip Tuesday: PLAY WITH PURPOSE! 🧩🎨

To children, it may look like they’re just playing, but there’s a whole lot of learning happening along the way! 💛

When children build with blocks, pretend to run a restaurant, sort toys, create with art materials, or make music with pots and pans, they’re developing important skills for preschool, kindergarten, and beyond.

Purposeful play helps children:

🧠 Think & Problem-Solve — planning, experimenting, and figuring things out
💬 Build Language — talking, listening, asking questions, and sharing ideas
❤️ Develop Social-Emotional Skills — cooperating, taking turns, and expressing feelings
🎨 Use Their Imagination — creating, pretending, and exploring new ideas
🌱 Build Confidence & Independence — making choices and learning through experience

And purposeful play doesn’t mean parents have to turn playtime into a lesson! Follow their interests, ask a few open-ended questions, provide simple materials, and give them plenty of time to explore.

🏠 Try turning everyday moments into play: open a pretend restaurant, sort the laundry, build something with empty boxes, or start a kitchen band. Learning opportunities are everywhere!

✨ This Week’s Challenge: Give your child 15–20 minutes of child-led play. Put away distractions, follow their lead, and see where their imagination takes them.

Because learning doesn’t always look like a lesson. Sometimes, it looks like PLAY! 🧸
