Thank you for coming out to Back to School Night! Walking through our halls and seeing so many of you connecting with your student’s teachers and staff, exploring their classes, and getting a feel for the year ahead — it really did feel like a community coming together.

To our wonderful MLMS teachers who welcomed families into their classrooms with so much warmth and care— thank you. Your dedication doesn’t go unnoticed.

We’re so grateful you’re part of this Mountain Lion family, and we can’t wait for everything 2026-2027 has in store.

📚✨ BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT IS TOMORROW! ✨📚

We can’t wait to welcome our students and families for Back to School Night on Thursday, August 20th! 💜🩵

🌮 Food Trucks will be available starting at 5:00 PM in the Pavilion.
🏃 Zero Period PE will meet at 5:45 PM.
📚 Advisory will begin at 6:00 PM.

Did you know? JUSD offers FREE after-school programs through Think Together or Woodcraft Rangers at all district elementary and middle schools.

Think Together is available at all middle and elementary schools EXCEPT Troth St. and West Riverside Elementary.

Programs are available Monday-Friday. Times are:

Elementary – Dismissal to 6 PM
Middle – Dismissal to 6:30 PM

Did you know? JUSD offers free intramural sports for students in grades 5-8 at most JUSD elementary and middle schools. Tryouts for intramural soccer will take place the week of September 8. You can learn more by visiting our website at: https://bit.ly/JUSDIMSPORTS.

What a great first two days at Mira Loma!
We’ve had an amazing start to the school year! Students spent the first two days getting to know our campus and learning all about the Mountain Lion Way.

At lunch today, ASB hosted fun games in the MPR, and our library is always open for students to come hang out! Students can play video games, board games, work on homework, or simply chill with friends. 🎮📚

🏀 Basketball, ⚽ soccer, and 🏐 volleyball were all big hits!

Students were also excited about the many food choices available in the food line. Remember, all students have access to free breakfast and lunch! Students will use the same ID number they use to log in to their Chromebooks.

We also know that afternoon pickup has been tough. We appreciate your patience as we work through the first days of school. Please continue to be patient, follow staff directions, and remember that student safety is our number one priority. Today was better than yesterday, and we know it will continue to improve as everyone gets into a routine.

Thank you, families, for your patience, support, and partnership as we kick off another great year at Mira Loma!
