Touch plays an important role in early development. In a recently published study based on Dr. Hardin's dissertation project, we examined a formalized mother-infant touch training protocol called kangaroo care. It was found that this skin-to-skin procedure favorably influences both neurodevelopmental trajectories and infant neurobiological functioning.

Now the WAVES Emotion lab has found evidence that mindfulness meditation is associated with brainwave changes in the frontal and central regions of children; reflecting a lower neurological risk for anxiety development.
