MacArthur Campus of Florida Atlantic University opened in the fall of 1999 and presently enrolls 1,500 students. The campus is home to the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College and offers a variety of upper-division and graduate courses in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts & Letters, the College for Design & Social Inquiry, the College of Education, the College of Engineering & Computer Science and the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. Distinctive features of FAU Jupiter include the Center for Environmental Studies, the Lifelong Learning Society and the Hibel Art Museum. The campus is also the site of research facilities for both Scripps Florida and the Max Planck Florida Institute. FAU at Jupiter is one of the nation's best buys in higher education. It offers first rate facilities and academic offerings and low state tuition. 📢 New Research Grant Announcement 🧠

FAU neuroscientist Dr. Laura Fontenas received a ~$450K grant from the NIH to study the production of myelin - the protective insulation surrounding nerve fibers in the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves.

The study will focus on newly discovered glial cells in the spinal cord that produce myelin and could provide a new avenue for understanding diseases such as multiple sclerosis.
