About the job:
This position will work at the mine site during the calendar year when school is not in session to gain valuable experience to help promote the education they are receiving.
After successful completion of the UAS AAS Diesel Technology Program, the employee will be expected to work for a minimum of 2 additional years or may be subject to paying back the tuition fees.
Coeur Alaska will provide basic tools needed while in the program.
Position Requirements:
Ability to be accepted to the UAS AAS Diesel Technology Program.
Maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or above.
Attend and be on time for courses.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work safe and promote safe behavior in others.
Follow all company policies and procedures.
Strong analytical, technical, communication, and problem solving skills are necessary.
Employees may be frequently exposed to underground work environments; outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold, extreme heat, potentially hazardous wildlife; moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration. The noise level in most work environments is usually very loud. This position may require work on nights, weekends and rotating shifts; shift schedules require residency in camp during work rotations.
Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
