The Adulting 101 class is for youth ages 16-27 and will help them learn money management, time management, job interviewing skills, résumé development, how to look and apply for housing, explore secondary education options and skills to manage their mental health. Attend each weekly class for a chance to win some great door prizes and an amazing grand prize!

The classes will conclude with a Reality Check event held with community partners on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

We are hiring students for our Summer Work Progam!
SAIL partners with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) Alaska Division of Vocational Rehabilitation to provide employment opportunities and support for youth throughout Southeast. The Summer Work Program is a 6-8 week paid work experience where students learn valuable employment and independent living skills. Students who are enrolled in school and identify as having a disability are qualified to apply for the program. Students who have an IEP or 504 plan are encouraged to apply, but not required to participate. Want to learn more about the Summer Work Program? In response to Juneau Su***de Prevention Coalition (JSPC) members' request to offer more support to parents and other adults who care for our youth, JSPC and the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (AFSP) is hosting an online presentation and conversation on More Than Sad: Su***de Prevention for Parents. Parents and other caring adults will learn how to recognize signs of depression and other mental health problems, initiate a conversation with their child, and get them help. We will also have a conversation to see if this program is right for Juneau.

Juneau Community Foundation Announces Scholarship Opportunities for Local Students .

Simon & Anna Kirk Memorial Scholarship. Up to $1,000 is available for one male student and one female student from Juneau Douglas High School or Yaakoosge Daakahidi Alternative High School, for undergraduate study, vocational school, or supervised apprenticeship training.

Alma Harris Scholarship. $10,000 will be awarded to one graduating senior from a Juneau High School to pursue a higher education at a University, College, or Vocational School.

Bob & Darlene (Phelps) Stutte Family Scholarship. A $2,500 award is available for one high school senior, or graduate from 2021 or 2022, from Yaakoosge Daakahidi Alternative High School or the CHOICE Program at Juneau Douglas High School, to pursue a higher education at a University, College, Vocational school, or other post-secondary training.
