JCMS 7th & 8th Grade Game Time Adjustments 9-17-2026

Due to heat concerns around our originally scheduled kickoff times, both the 7th and 8th grade games will now begin at 6:00 p.m.
New Game Start Time: 6:00 p.m.

7th Grade Departure: The 7th grade team will now depart at 4:00 p.m., or once the parking lot has emptied.

If we have enough daylight and the temperature is cooperating, we will play the full A game, followed immediately by a 5th quarter for the B team.

Thank you for your flexibility and understanding. We look forward to seeing everyone this evening!

Debido a las altas temperaturas previstas durante los horarios de inicio originalmente programados, los partidos de 7.º y 8.º grado ahora comenzarán a las 6:00 p. m.

Nuevo horario de inicio de los partidos: 6:00 p. m.

Salida del equipo de 7.º grado: El equipo de 7.º grado ahora saldrá a las 4:00 p. m., o una vez que el estacionamiento se haya despejado.

Si contamos con suficiente luz natural y la temperatura lo permite, jugaremos el partido completo del equipo A, seguido inmediatamente por un quinto cuarto para el equipo B.

Due to the 3½ inches of rain we received last night, today’s Cross-Country Meet has been POSTPONED and will be rescheduled for a later date.
We will share the new meet date as soon as it is confirmed.

We 👀 you JCMS!

💙 On Monday night, Geary County Schools USD 475 science teachers Anthony Gallardo and Cara Gunzleman were recognized for helping the district be named a 2025–26 District of Distinction in Twig Science by Imagine Learning as part of its 2026 Imagine Nation Awards.

In all, USD 475 was one of only 15 districts or schools, nationally, to be named a District of Distinction in Twig Science and the lone representative from the state of Kansas.

Students in Mrs. Dukes’ Science Class have been learning about our solar system and brought their learning to life by creating their own 3D models. From painting and designing the planets to assembling their solar systems, students had the opportunity to combine science with creativity and hands-on learning.
These pictures capture students working together, putting the finishing touches on their planets, and proudly showing off their completed projects.
Great job to these young scientists for their creativity, teamwork, and hard work! It’s always exciting to see learning come to life beyond the textbook.

Shoutout to our 6th graders! 🎉

These three students are proudly representing the Class of 2033 as the overall PRIDE winners from their teams for the month of August. That means they consistently demonstrated what it means to be Purposeful, Respectful, Inclusive, Dynamic, and Engaged!

The Class of 2033 showed incredible leadership, earning 176 of the 353 PRIDE tickets awarded in August— the most of any grade level! 👏

Way to go, Class of 2033! You’ve officially earned the first chip on the GOAT Trophy Board for the 2026-2027 school year!
