A large portion of my job goes to supporting students with Type 1 Diabetes. Im beyond thankful for technology to keep a tight control and skilled secretaries to be my extra hands. Today was a good diabetes day IYKYK!

We're excited to announce that we're hosting a free dental clinic for children 5 & up on March 7th!

As part of American Dental Association Foundation's , our dental hygiene students will give kids free evaluations, sealants, fluoride, x-rays, and preventative care, under the supervision of Lane instructors and volunteer dentists. All at our new bond-funded Health Professions building on our main campus (lanecc.edu/map).

Appointments are available 8 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1 p.m.–5 p.m. on March 7, but spots will fill fast. Call the Lane Dental Clinic at 541-463-5206 to reserve a time.

(Adults can also call the same number to book low-cost appointments during regular clinic hours.)

We really can’t thank them enough!

Thank you, FBCJC, for your incredible generosity in providing Christmas gifts for 38 children in our community. The FBCJC staff had the joy of delivering these gifts to local schools this week, helping spread the love of Jesus and Christmas cheer to families in need.

Here’s how many kiddos were called out sick at each school today: Laurel 19 Oaklea 27 Territorial 5 High School 35. Not all absences get called in as ill so we can assume there’s a few more 😉. Calling your child out ill versus an unexcused absence helps us keep track of hot spots in our schools. We have heard from parents of positive COVID tests. The school no longer has COVID test to give out but they’re available over the counter. Whether to test for COVID or not remains a personal choice. It’s now treated the same as all other illnesses in regard to returning to school.

JC staff have been working on wellness. Part of our work included sponsoring Scandia Run teams. “Schoolin’ the Competition” finished 2nd in the 5k, 10k goals were crushed, and fun was had by all!
