Thank you Junction City High School Honor Society students, Laurel Green Team students, and board member Mark Inman and his wife Susan for helping with the next phase of the Nature Center transformation. We recently planted many native plants, added new paths, and created rock and rain gardens.

Second graders continue to enjoy lessons and garden time through School Garden Project of Lane County.

Shout out to Pacific Corrugated Pipe Co. for donating additional metal planters to keep our salmonberry and nootka rose plants from spreading! Also, thank you board member Jacque Gerdes for sharing some mint straw with us!

Are you interested in getting involved? Please email Britni at [email protected].

Would you like to be involved in the beautification of the Nature Center, Laurel's outdoor classroom and garden? Are you interested in contributing to the creation of another outdoor classroom and garden space at Laurel? There are different ways to get involved, including planning, leading art projects, regular maintenance, and occasional weekend work parties.

Our next work party is scheduled for Saturday, December 10th from 12pm-4pm (come any time; see comment for details). If you are interested in joining us that day, volunteering in the future, or getting involved somehow please contact Britni Cacan at [email protected] or call the school at 541-998-2386 to leave your contact information.

In addition, we are looking for someone with a wood chipper who'd be willing to help us chip a large shrub. There is also a birdhouse that needs some love (see comment for photo).

Donations are always welcome (monetary and physical items). We would love to collect more child-sized gloves and tools. If you have something that you think we could use, please reach out.
