Meet Our Newest JCA Staff Member!

Please join us in giving a warm JCA welcome to Mrs. Isabell Ashcraft, who is joining the JCA family as our 2nd Grade teacher! A Joshua native, Mrs. Ashcraft recently celebrated an exciting new chapter by getting married this past June! In her free time, she enjoys reading and thrifting. She is a graduate of Crown College, where she earned her degree in Elementary Education along with her Structured Reading Specialist Certification. She also has a special connection to JCA, having attended Joshua Christian Academy during her elementary years, and has been a member of Joshua Baptist Church since she was five years old. When asked what she's most excited about this school year, she shared that she's looking forward to building relationships with her students and seeing how the Lord works in their lives throughout the year.

Please join us in celebrating Mrs. Carlyn Zornes as she begins an exciting new chapter at Joshua Christian Academy! This year marks her 10th year at JCA, and she is stepping into the role of our Junior High and High School Math Teacher while continuing to serve as our Fine Arts Director. A proud JCA graduate from the Class of 2013, Mrs. Carlyn earned her Bachelor's degree in Education from West Coast Baptist College before returning to invest in the next generation of JCA students. Mrs. Carlyn's goal is to make her classroom a place where students grow not only in their math skills, but also in their confidence, perseverance, and love of learning. She is excited to bring the same fun, enthusiasm, and school spirit that filled her elementary classroom into the upper grades! Outside of school, Mrs. Carlyn enjoys reading, attending musicals and plays, helping with her husband's BBQ catering business, and spending quality time with their two boys. We are grateful for Mrs. Carlyn's heart for Christian education and her faithful investment in our students. We know she will be a tremendous blessing to our junior high and high school students this year.

Please join us in giving a warm JCA welcome to Mrs. Roa, who is joining the JCA family as our 4th–6th Grade Math teacher!

Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, she and her husband, Tony, have been married for 20 years and are the proud parents of two children, Audrey and Caleb. Their family also includes three dogs, Zack, Joey, and Nugget, and a leopard gecko named Nigel! When she has a little free time, she enjoys crocheting. Mrs. Roa graduated from Norris Bible Baptist Seminary in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies. Her family has faithfully served in ministry for more than 15 years, including serving as youth leaders, assisting with church plants and struggling churches. They are currently serving at Rockwall Baptist Church, where her husband is the pastor. She previously served as a long-term substitute at both Boulevard and Heritage Christian Academy and has taught students across multiple grade levels. Last year, she taught Kindergarten, where she discovered just how much she loves leading a classroom of her own. She is looking forward to joining the JCA family, getting to know her students, and planting gospel seeds as they learn and grow together.
Fun Fact: She's visited 12 states outside of Texas and is already planning to add three more next year, including Alaska!

🌟 Meet Our Newest JCA Staff Member! 🌟

Please join us in giving a warm JCA welcome to Kamryn Willenborg, who is joining the JCA family as our Pre-K3 teacher and PE teacher!
Kamryn is from Burleson, Texas, and recently graduated from Heartland Baptist Bible College with a degree in Elementary Education. She is also looking forward to an exciting new chapter in her life as she prepares to get married this September!
Before coming to JCA, Kamryn spent four years working in childcare, serving children from 6 weeks old through 12 years old in a variety of roles. Her passion for working with children and helping them grow has prepared her well for the classroom.
When asked what she's most excited about, Kamryn shared that she's looking forward to being part of the JCA team and beginning her teaching career in a Christ-centered environment.
Outside of school, Kamryn enjoys antiquing, playing volleyball, and spending time with her mini Goldendoodle, Gabe. She also loves refinishing furniture and decorating whenever she gets the chance!

🌟 Meet Our Newest JCA Staff Member! 🌟

Please join us in giving a warm JCA welcome to Melissa Hoffmann, who is joining our JCA office team!

Melissa is a mom of three, and faith and family are at the heart of everything she does. After owning and operating her own salon business for 16 years, she's excited to begin a new chapter serving the students, families, and staff at Joshua Christian Academy. In her role, Melissa will help welcome students and families, assist with daily office operations, and support our staff through communication and organization. Her years as a business owner have equipped her with strong organizational skills, professionalism, and a heart for serving others with kindness. Qualities we're excited to have as part of the JCA family! When asked what she's looking forward to most, Melissa shared that she's excited to serve in a Christ-centered environment, build meaningful relationships with students and families, and be part of a team that invests in the next generation.
Fun Fact: Melissa recently gave herself a French-inspired haircut! She also loves gardening, creative DIY projects, spending time outdoors, and learning new skills.

The first day of school is right around the corner, and we are getting ready for another exciting year at Joshua Christian Academy!
