Good afternoon, Elder Families,

First, I want to sincerely thank you for your patience, prompt attention, and cooperation as we navigated an abrupt change in our dismissal procedures today.

Near dismissal time, we proactively relocated all students to the north side of the school near the cafeteria to allow for an easier evacuation, if needed, due to a fire across the street from the school. Joshua ISD Police, Joshua Fire Department, and Joshua EMS/CareFlight responded quickly to assist us.

Our Elder staff, teachers, and students responded in grand fashion. While some students were understandably shaken, please rest assured that our staff worked diligently to comfort them, reassure them, and keep them calm throughout the situation.

We are incredibly grateful for our Elder community and the way we all come together and support one another during unexpected circumstances like these.

Returning Student Verification and New Student Registration is now open for the 2026-27 school year. It is mandatory for every parent to complete the verification process and submit a proof of residence for each student. Acceptable documents include a current month water bill, gas bill, trash bill, or electric bill in the legal parent/guardian's name. Other acceptable forms include an approved transfer letter, shared residency form or Rental Residency form for the 2026-27 school year.

You can complete this process by clicking on the following links and following the provided instructions.

• New Student Enrollment – click here if you have a NEW student to enroll (e.g. Pre-K or new to district) - https://bit.ly/3QWpiPu

If Returning Student Verification is done before July 1, it will display your child's current year grade level and school.

Please note that the free and reduced meal application will not be available until after July 1st. Details regarding this will be shared with you at a later date.

If your home campus is North Joshua Elementary or Elder Elementary, it is important that you complete the Returning Student Verification promptly to ensure that your student continues to be placed at their home campus.

La verificación de estudiantes que regresan y la inscripción de estudiantes nuevos ya están abiertas para el año escolar 2026-27. Es obligatorio que todos los padres completen el proceso de verificación y presenten una prueba de residencia para cada estudiante.
