After completing a cooperative learning, Swiss Family Robinson unit in class, the 7th-8th grade students created models of what their living spaces would have looked like if they had been shipwrecked on an island. What an impressive job they did!

Hooray! Spring is here! Today we planted potatoes in the JAMS garden. Spending time in the garden reminds us how God plants the seeds of growth in our hearts. We w**d our garden just like we allow God to help us w**d out the bad habits in our lives. With His guidance, we grow into disciples for Him.

Today in science class, we studied the evidence for creation and evolution. It was the same evidence, but an evolutionist interprets the data to mean something different than a creationist. We talked about the difference between using science to make decisions about God or using God to understand science. I was sharing what I believed and how I made my choice to believe in God and use my knowledge of Him to understand science and the natural world. Mateo raised his hand and asked if this was a science class or another Bible class. And with that one question, he made our point so perfectly! It is by understanding God's natural laws through science and nature... and that they never change or fail... that we see how dependable God really is. It is the evidence of those unfailing natural laws that make the truth of His unfailing loyalty, love, and forgiveness seem so plausible. And it is the law of God's love that changes our lives into something so much more beautiful than we were before we accepted Him. So yes! Science is another Bible class. It is a reflection of the Creator who loves us so much that He gave us another way to help us understand Him.

With our little lambs
Giving the glory as we should
To a God who is good

We do our best, and
He does the rest
As we seek to serve Him
He fills our cup to the brim

Even from the very start
We give Jesus our whole heart
And all through the year
We have nothing to fear.

Guide us as we grow
Let kindness be our rule, and
