Had a fun training day with my JOSAR friends recently. It’s been nice to watch this group gel. I think we’re all feeling dialed and ready for the busy holiday season coming up.

I got to do some climbing with part of the crew before the holiday rush. This is Chad climbing a sweet little splitter at the White Cliffs, with Emery on the belay. If you haven’t met him yet Chad is our newest guide. He recently sent his AMGA Rock Guide Exam, and he’s well on his way to full IFMGA status. We’re lucky to have him.

Swipe to the end to see Emmers casually on-sighting one of the nicest climbs in the park.

Our great friend Kenny Goff was taken away from us Saturday. Kenny was caught by an avalanche while skiing in Wyoming and did not survive. He will be missed by so many here in Joshua Tree, and in his home of Lander, WY.

Kenny was one of the most well rounded individuals I’ve ever known. He found balance in working hard, playing hard, and sharing meaningful moments with friends and family. Kenny was fully present whenever I saw him, and I always admired that. He was goal oriented and achieved so much in his life, from climbing big mountains, to traveling the world, to forming lasting connections with the people he met. He was in peak physical fitness and probably the best looking person to ever wear the MG uniform! He shared a beautiful home with his fiancé in their ideal community and had recently finished nursing school, and began a job that allowed him the time to pursue all of his passions.

I had the pleasure of working with Kenny at , , and here at Mojave Guides. He was an exceptional teacher and a really fun guy to work with. I know he left lasting impressions on people through all of these organizations, so I hope this message reaches some of you and we can all take some time to remember him.

Real sad to see you go Kenny Goff. Love you bub.
