Foundation Ensures Excellence in Education for All

Established in 2001, Copper Mountain College Foundation is designated to receive gifts for the college from individuals, corporations and foundations. Just as it is with other educational
institutions, our college needs charitable gifts to endow scholarships and support educational programs and capital improvements that can
mean the difference between ordinary and extraordinary programs and services for student success. The Foundation’s mission, to maximize educational opportunities in the Morongo Basin by supporting the programs, facilities and
activities of the Copper Mountain Community College District includes administering the F. Scholarship and the Alumni
Association as well as fundraising for current students’ programs. The Copper Mountain College Foundation, formerly Friends of
Copper Mountain College, is a 501c3 non-profit auxiliary organization, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and overseen by the
college’s Board of Trustees. Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. Annual Foundation events include the Golf Tournament,
Alumni BBQ, Fall Gala and Holiday Wreath Auction. It is vital that we maintain our high standard of excellence in education. California's community colleges educate 73 percent of the state's citizens, yet they receive only 11 percent of the per student state dollars for education. Clearly, your generosity has never been more important. With the help of our contributors and our continued success, Copper Mountain College will remain a pillar in the community, educating everyone interested in learning, and supporting programs that enhance the education process. 🌵 HOW THE CACTI GOT IN THE GAME! 🏀
Ever wonder how athletics got started at Copper Mountain College?

It took a community that was willing to step up and make it happen.

Back in Fall 2016, 100 community members answered the call and became the original CMC Athletic Booster Charter Members — each making a $500 lifetime gift to help get CMC basketball off the ground.

💥 100 Charter Members × $500 = $50,000
That support helped make the dream of CMC Athletics a reality.

With the community behind us, CMC hired its first Athletic Director, and in the 2017–18 academic year, the Fighting Cacti officially took the court for the first time!

That’s how you build a program.

And today, our Athletic Boosters continue that same tradition of community support — helping provide resources and opportunities for the student-athletes who proudly wear the Cacti uniform.

At our own community college, Copper Mountain College, we believe potential isn’t always measured by a test score, a GPA, or where you started.

Sometimes it’s measured by one simple thing:

Sometimes, a scholarship is more than financial help. It’s the gift of breathing room.

For Valarie, the Osher Faculty Scholarship means one less financial worry and more room to focus on the goal she has worked so hard to achieve: completing her program by fall 2027.

Her thank-you to the donors who believed in her says it all:
“Thank you so much for choosing me and believing in me. I’ve worked hard to get here and I’m committed to completing my program by fall 2027. Your support feels so good to receive—it gives me room to focus on finishing what I started. I’m deeply grateful for your support and generosity. I’m looking forward to making you proud.”

This is what your generosity does.
It gives a student a little more breathing room. It turns hard work into opportunity. It says, “We believe in you. Keep going.”
