SMASH - This is a fan favorite among 3rd-4th graders to practice math facts, as they race to find the answer to a multiplication problem and tap the board.

"Can we play smash?" is now a daily question from students.

A FRESH START FOR OUR FAMILIES!

Joseph City Schools extends a huge THANK YOU to 1GPA National Purchasing Cooperative for their incredibly generous donation to our students and families!

Thanks to their generosity, all outstanding student cafeteria balances have been paid in full! Our families can begin the school year with a clean slate and no past cafeteria debt.

We are so grateful to 1GPA National Purchasing Cooperative for supporting our school community and making a meaningful difference for our families. Thank you!

The road to the Revolution was paved with challenges, and now these 7th graders are stepping right into them! By debating tough choices and connecting history to the present, they aren't just learning—they're thinking like historians. Parents, you should be so proud of these curious, dedicated scholars!

HS business students are currently learning how to accurately take inventory for our concession stand by counting products, tracking quantities, and identifying items that need to be restocked. They will practice using inventory records to help manage supplies and reduce waste.

Photography students worked on building pinhole cameras with nothing but a cardboard box, black paint and white paper. They’ve explored the basic principles of photography while discovering how a simple camera can capture an image using light and perspective.
Check out the image of the flagpole captured from looking inside the box!!

Do you know what major thing happened Sunday morning?
NASA launched Roman Space Telescope Sunday morning and watched the launch today.
We look forward to learning more about Roman Space Telescope and the differences between Hubble, James Webb, and Roman.
Roman will start to produce data at the beginning of next year.
We also saw Mrs. Bushman's old high school friend who had been working on Roman Space Telescope for the past 10 years at NASA Goddard Space Center.
We look forward to learning more about Roman from Mrs. Bushman's friend.

Environmental Science is working on building water filters all week this week.
Many found out today that their filter did not work today.
But are failures in the lab really failures?
No, they are opportunities to learn and improve.
What will they do on Wednesday, I am thinking that their Wednesday filters should be getting better.

Our Junior High CAD students spent the week in Fusion, precisely modeling custom, functional "LEGO" bricks from scratch. They learned sketching and dimensioning, and dialed in the exact tolerances needed to make two digital pieces snap together perfectly.

For Way Back Wednesday, we took those digital designs back to where it all started and traded our mousepads for a giant box of physical LEGOs! Cutting back on screen time in a tech class can be difficult, but building block-by-block is basically human-powered 3D printing. We compared building with LEGOs to 3D Printing—debating layer lines, print orientation.

Turns out, whether you're slicing a model in CAD or stacking bricks on a desk, engineering principles don't change. Hands-on learning, zero screen strain, and only a mild risk of stepping on a brick. I'd call that a way back win!
