Update for JES families - there is no school today, December 19, 2024, and all after school activities are canceled.

Update: Jordan Public Schools has decided to close school on Thursday, December 19. We have been closely monitoring the current and predicted conditions. Roads are currently slippery and snow covered in our district area. The National Weather Service predicts the heaviest snow will fall between now and noon at a rate of 0.5 to 1 inch per hour and while afternoon snow will lighten, wind gusts are expected to be 30-40 mph making travel conditions difficult. In consultation with the National Weather Service, state transportation agencies, area districts, and our transportation partners at Benjamin Bus, a decision has been made to close school on Thursday, December 19, 2024. This is the first weather closure of the year and is built into the calendar as a traditional weather closure for all students. With that, this will NOT be a flexible learning day and students do not need to check into Google Classroom or with their teachers.

Preschool, ECFE and Kids’ Company will also be closed. All Jordan Public Schools district affiliated after-school activities and athletics are canceled for Thursday.

All Community Ed and Rec youth after-school and evening activities are also canceled. The CERC will remain open for regular hours. Additional communication regarding CERC hours will be shared via our website and social media should any changes need to be made for the safety of our staff.

Grade 6 families: as a reminder, the planned field trip to Hyland Hills Ski Area will be rescheduled for a later date.

At this time, we anticipate school to run as normal on Friday, December 20, however we will monitor road conditions and update families should we need to adjust Friday’s schedule.
