Good afternoon, due to inclement weather, Caliday will be closed tomorrow, February 23rd, 2026

Harford County Public Schools will be closed Monday, February 23, 2026. No afterschool or evening activities. Essential personnel should await further instruction.

The Board of Education Public Business Meeting, scheduled for Monday, February 23, 2026, has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 7:00 p.m.

HCPS schools and offices closed Thursday, January 29, and Friday, January 30, 2026.

Harford County Public Schools will be closed Thursday and Friday, January 29-30, 2026. No afterschool or evening activities. Essential personnel should await further instruction.

Due to the closure, 2nd quarter has been extended until Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Canvas semester courses will continue to be open until Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

We anticipate schools will be open and accessible next week. Families should plan ahead for safe travel if sidewalks or routes near their homes have not yet been cleared.

As efforts continue throughout the county to ensure safe travel conditions, Harford County Public Schools will be closed Wednesday, January 28, 2026. No afterschool or evening activities. Essential personnel should await further instruction. Please help us by clearing your sidewalks and around bus stops to help students return to school safely and as soon as possible.

EDIT: We have notified our mass communications system that the phone call has not been made to all contacts; they have noted the amount of school systems utilizing the system is causing a delay. We apologize, but don't worry- you will get your call from Mrs. Lader, too!

The Board of Education Public Business Meeting, scheduled for Monday, January 26, 2026, has been cancelled. Any items previously on the agenda for the Business meeting on January 26, will now occur on February 9. This means the previously scheduled Work Session on February 9, will be switched to a Board Business Meeting.

The Board of Education Closed Session previously scheduled for Monday, January 26, 2026 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. and will be held virtually, with the open proceedings available via live stream on hcps.org.

We ask that the community not use school property like fields, tracks, or hills at this time as facilities staff deal with limited visibility and utilize heavy equipment to clear HCPS property.

Friendly reminder: Due to HCPS operating on a 2-hour delay tomorrow (01/20/2026), AM care will not be available.

The following message will be sent to all contacts: Harford County Public Schools will open 2 hours late, tomorrow, Tuesday, January 20, 2026. This delay is necessary due to road conditions and the need for additional treatment on roads and lots in specific areas in the county.

HCPS schools, to include Swan Creek, and offices will open 2 hours late tomorrow, Tuesday, January 20, 2026. No AM Early Learners and Learning Together programs, or before school childcare.

Essential personnel should await further information from their supervisor.

Any necessary re-evaluation will be made by 6:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.

As a reminder, school bus route status information is posted on hcps.org to notify the community of any delays or transportation issues.
