Here are three incredible administrators who have made a lasting impact on our school community. While we are sad to see them go, we are grateful for the dedication, leadership, and care they have given to our students, staff, and families.

One is beginning a well-earned retirement, and two are embarking on new journeys at different schools. Though their paths are changing, their influence will remain part of our story for years to come.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment and countless contributions. We wish each of you nothing but happiness, success, and new adventures in this next chapter. You will always be a part of the Joppatowne family. 💜⚓

You may know that Mr. Hanzelik will be retiring this year. In addition Mr. King will heading to Havre de Grade Middle High school for the next school year. Join us in wishing them all the best and extending a Mariner “welcome” to Dr. Ri-Chard McCarthy and. Ms. Terri Cohee who will be joining the Mariner Family as an assistant principals for the upcoming school year. Dr. McCarthy is coming from Aberdeen High School and Ms. Cohee from Harford Tech. We hope you get a chance to welcome Dr. McCarthy and Ms. Cohee to the Mariner community.



It has been my honor to serve the Mariner community for the last three and a half years. I will be moving on to serve the Swan Creek School community for the next school year. It is my pleasure to announce Mr. Josh Clemmer as your incoming principal. Mr. Clemmer is coming from Edgewood High School. Please join me in wishing him all the best and be sure to reach out to say, “hello!” I want to thank you for all of the support you have given me these past years. I will truly miss this community.

It’s time to celebrate your future!

On Friday, May 1st, all graduating seniors from the Class of 2026 are invited to declare their college or career decision during our College and Career Decision Day celebration!

Here’s how you can participate:

• Wear your college t-shirt or hoodie, military affiliation sweatshirt, or bring your college pennant banner.
• Planning to start your career? Show it off with a career-themed outfit of your choice!
• Visit the College Signing Station and the Media Center during lunch for photos and celebration.

Family and individual photos will be taken to mark this exciting milestone, and parents and guardians are encouraged to attend and celebrate alongside their seniors.
