🚨 Welcome to October: Dyslexia Awareness Month! 🧩

Did you know that 1 in 5 people have a dyslexic brain? That means in almost every classroom in Joplin, there are bright, creative kids working five times harder than their peers just to decode the page in front of them.

As a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) who is dyslexic myself, I want to start this month by clearing up the biggest misconception out there: Dyslexia has absolutely nothing to do with intelligence. 💡

Dyslexic brains are wired for the future. They belong to our community’s most visionary artists, inventors, entrepreneurs, and big-picture problem solvers. They just process written language differently.

Traditional tutoring tries to force a square peg into a round hole with endless repetition. At DeCoDeD Reading, we build a completely different blueprint using the Science of Reading—giving students the explicit, structured tools they need to unlock their full potential while protecting their confidence.

Happy Friday, families! If you or your child feel like you've been running 47 different background programs all week, you are in good company.

Did you know that dyslexic individuals are often incredible, out-of-the-box big-picture thinkers? Their brains naturally scan for connections, patterns, and creative solutions that others might miss.

But keeping all those brilliant "tabs" organized during a heavy school week takes a lot of cognitive battery power! 🔋
