โœจ 555 Followers! โœจ

We just hit a beautiful milestone, and in the world of numerology, 555 is a powerful angel number that symbolizes transformation, growth, and positive change!

To us, this number is the perfect reflection of what we do here at Decoded Reading. Every day, we work to transform challenges into triumphs, helping students decode their reading barriers and step into their own power and freedom.

Thank you to each and every one of our 555 followers for being part of this community, trusting our literacy tips, and supporting our mission. Big changes and growth are ahead for our students, and we are so grateful to share this journey with you! ๐Ÿ“šโค๏ธ

๐Ÿง  Quick brain check! Did you know that human brains aren't naturally wired to read?

Unlike talking, reading is a code our brains have to actively build. That is where the "magic" of multi-sensory learning comes in! When we connect sight, sound, and touch, we wire new pathways for reading success.

Look at the image below. Can you spot the hidden word spelled out by the letters? Drop your guess in the comments! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Let's be honest for a second. Fill in the blank: Reading homework at my house usually feels like __________. (No judgment here! Whether itโ€™s 'a breeze' or 'a minor wrestling match,' let us know below! ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ‘‡)

๐Ÿค”Can you spot the fake? One of these statements about reading is a total myth. Guess which one is the lie in the comments! ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘‡

1๏ธโƒฃ English is too unpredictable to teach logically.
2๏ธโƒฃ We use the same part of the brain to read as we do to speak.
3๏ธโƒฃ Dyslexia has nothing to do with overall intelligence.

Check back tomorrow afternoon when we reveal the lie!

Letโ€™s play a quick game! ๐Ÿง  Drop your answer in the comments below:

If you say the word 'FLIGHT' but change the /l/ sound to a /r/ sound, what new word do you get? ๐Ÿ‘‡

Did you know that reading isn't just about looking at letters? Itโ€™s about mapping sounds (phonemes) to the letters that represent them (graphemes)! ๐Ÿงฉ

In our structured literacy sessions, we use physical tokens and multi-sensory tools so students can physically "see" and "touch" the sounds in a word before they write them down. This hands-on connection makes the reading code finally click for struggling readers! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿง

๐Ÿ’ช Dyslexia is so much more than just a reading challengeโ€”it comes with an incredible set of hidden superpowers!

While we spend our sessions doing the "heavy lifting" to master the reading code, we always love to celebrate the amazing natural strengths that dyslexic thinkers bring to the table. From deep empathy and brilliant problem-solving to big-picture, creative thinking, these minds are truly built for greatness. โœจ

Take a look at the graphic below! Which of these strengths do you see shining bright in your child? Let us know in the comments! ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ”
