From the time he was young, Chase Drake, dreamed of being in law enforcement.

“I started my career in criminal justice where I obtained an associates from Crowder,” stated Drake. “I was able to learn about law enforcement and take those tools and apply them in the police academy. I am now a Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy in a supervisor role. Crowder helped me start the dream I always wanted.”

Today, you will find Chase working out or patrolling, making his dream become a reality!

Crowder College Workforce Development is proud to announce a new partnership with Dale Carnegie—formalized yesterday at our official signing event in Joplin.

This collaboration brings one of the most recognized names in professional development directly to our region. Through this partnership, we will expand access to high-impact training focused on leadership, communication, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.

For employers and professionals across Southwest Missouri and the surrounding areas, this means new opportunities to develop strong leaders, build more resilient teams, and drive long-term success.

Timothy Holt and Kyler Copher competed at the Missouri State Skills competition in April and earned Gold qualifying them for the Skills USA Nationals Mechatronics competition that will take place this week in Atlanta, GA. They were required to demonstrate their skills in all areas of industrial mechatronics including pneumatics, electrical wiring/print reading, mechanics, and PLC programming. At nationals they will be challenged to assemble, wire, program, and test a fully functional industrial sorting system, followed by integrating and programming an industrial robot to operate alongside it. This competition will consist of the top mechatronic students from all Colleges across the US. We are confident they will represent Crowder College and the state of Missouri exceptionally well on the national stage in Atlanta.
