As Teacher Appreciation Week continues, we're introducing you to each of our five extraordinary Teacher of the Year finalists!

Today, we celebrate Stacie Frieze, a K-5 Special Education teacher at McKinley Elementary. Stacie has been involved with social work, education, and education administration for more than 10 years, bringing her passion and expertise with her to Joplin Schools in 2023. Along with daily teaching duties, Stacie currently serves as one of two district Elementary Resource Department Heads, providing instructional support to students with disabilities and mentoring resource teachers
across ten elementary schools. Those duties strongly inform her philosophy as a teacher:

"Ultimately, I became a teacher because I believe education is a powerful force for equity, opportunity, and community growth. My greatest accomplishment is not a single initiative or recognition, but the collective impact of supporting students, empowering educators, and advocating for inclusive systems that ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive."

Stacie, we are thankful for the intentional ways you create learning environments that support success and growth for every student! Thank you for going All In Every Day for your students and team at McKinley. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
