Two more individuals that recently started their Air Force Careers!!! One doing RF Transmissions (MY CAREER FIELD) and another doing An Aircrew (flying) position as an operator! It’s been a few weeks since they started basic training and I couldn’t be prouder of everything they have accomplished this far in 2020 (besides graduating High School, in this crazy time). I don’t say this enough, but I am tremendously proud of the accomplishments of not just my Airmen, but all of those that have the privilege of this march. Today is one of those days that I get to reflect on the history of awesomeness from one of my Airmen. Dylan Hill congratulations on your success and enjoy the aftermath of your achievements. Aim High!

This day in Air Force History!!!
August 3, 1962 - The Magazine cover photo is of then Major Robert M. White, U.S. Air Force. Taken after his world record setting flight into space aboard the X-15 rocket-plane. Ret. Col White set his 5th world record (1st to Mach 4, Mach 5, Mach 6, fly over 200,000 feet, then over 300,000 feet.
This flight was 314,750 foot altitude. Ret. Col White was then the first X-15 pilot to be awarded the U.S. Air Force astronaut wings (also pictured). This man was a true inspiration of what you can achieve with the right tools and motivation.
These astronaut wings are one of the many precursors to what is now the new United States Space Force. Finding that inspiration to fly higher than your station and become something bigger than you or your family has ever imagined is one phone call away.
If you are ready to realize you potential - hit that call now button!

As John Glenn starts the next chapter of his career, I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. You see Trainee Glenn joined as a junior from Joplin High School. For those that don’t know, a junior or softbook provides us a list of 5 jobs they qualify for and we guarantee them one of the five. Well one day, in the Fall of 2019, we had an opening for a job that wasn’t on his list. I called him and offered it to him, without hesitation he said sure and was glad to join the Air Force. Fast forward a few months and COVID-19 came in and kicked some major butt, and changed how we operated. I had to call and let him know that due to COVID-19 his job was going to be put on hold for the safety of everyone. While slightly devistated he wasn’t able to make it to BMT when we thought he would. After a few phone calls and some conversations, he asked if he could go as quickly as possible to BMT to start his journey after hearing a friend was rebooked a new job from the same junior program. A few days later we get the contract for him, but not for the same job he was previously scheduled for, but this time it was on his list of 5, it was actually at the top of his list, his #1, an intelligence position! It is amazing to see one of start this journey and move forward with towards his goals. ! This is just one of many success stories and like all of my Airmen a story I won’t forget.

Absolutely impressed with this future Airman. If I needed anything for the process she would stop what she was doing and take care of it. As she knows, it was a long process that was met with many hiccups but at the end of the day she never threw away her shot!
