!!!! Retirement announcement !!!!!
We are also happy to announce the Athena is in full retirement (from breeding) and will only be in grandma / couch potato mode from now on with the exception of her guard dog duties.

She has been such a blessing to our family. Literally the best ambassador for the Doberman breed and for Schatten. Her temperament and patience with her pups and with our family being right in the middle of it ALL THE TIME was remarkable to watch.

It’s weird to watch the dynamic change in our house and it was almost instantly after the pups left. As if she knew her role has changed. She is still the matriarch of our Schatten pack and still calls the shots but she has passed the day to day enforcement role of the pack to her daughter Aspen. Aspen rules this house with the respect of an iron fist. She demands order from everyone but as long as everyone is good she loves to play with the others and get them all into zoomie mode. We love Aspen deeply and we think she is equally if not more smart than her daddy Apollo. Let me tell you Apollo is VERY SMART. But Apollo is ALL business ALL the time. REAL PROTECTION BUSINESS.

Life has gotten in the way and we are a little late on this post due to it but…. We also missed a family picture with one of the pups. They all went home a couple weeks ago and it sounds like they are settling in well. We are so happy and hopeful to all these pups and the families they have joined.

And just like that it’s time for the babies to start going home. Bittersweet…

Alright guys…. This girl needs a family. She is the last one of her litter that isn’t claimed. I don’t know how because not only is she beautiful but she has the sweetest personality! Ready to go home this week!

Then there was 1! I don’t know how she hasn’t found her forever family yet because she is probably the sweetest of the bunch!
