Thirty-five high-achieving freshmen at Arkansas State University have been awarded the prestigious A-State Scholar, the university's highest academic scholarship.

The students, all part of the university's Honors College, come from five different states, include high school valedictorians and salutatorians, and represent a range of majors on campus.

A-State Scholar recipients receive an $18,000 scholarship annually. Requirements include being a high school graduate with a minimum ACT superscore of 31 or a 1400 SAT score, and a 3.5 high school grade point average (GPA). Recipients must have a minimum 3.5 college GPA to maintain the scholarship.

Family Weekend is almost here! 🐺❤️

A-State is welcoming Red Wolf families back to campus Sept. 25–27 for a weekend full of ways to spend time together, experience campus life and explore Jonesboro.

• A-State Volleyball vs. ULM on Friday
• Game Day 5K, Red Wolf Walk, and tailgating on Saturday
• A-State Football vs. Kennesaw State Saturday night
• Family Brunch and family photos on Sunday
• Plus the Jonesboro BBQ Fest, NEA District Fair, Bradbury Art Museum and more happening throughout the weekend!

Whether you join us for one event or make a full weekend of it, Family Weekend is all about giving students a chance to share the people, places and traditions that have become part of their A-State experience.

Nine years ago this week, A-State Campus Querétaro opened its doors in Mexico. 🇲🇽🐺

Since then, the campus has given students the opportunity to take their A-State experience beyond Jonesboro while staying connected to the university they know.

Students at A-State Campus Querétaro receive an A-State education with classes taught in English and degrees valid in both the U.S. and Mexico. The 370-acre campus offers programs in business, communications, engineering, technology and science in a region that is home to more than 1,200 multinational companies.

This Saturday, the Dean B. Ellis Clock Tower will shine red in memory of Red Wolves sideline reporter JC Cox.

Red is a color of celebration at A-State. We light the tower red on occasions that give our university and community reason to celebrate. And while we mourn JC’s passing, we can think of few people who better embodied the spirit behind that red light.

JC was relentlessly positive. Whether the Red Wolves trailed by three scores or his health was declining, he brought an unmistakable optimism, enthusiasm, and love for the game and, most importantly, for the people, to the sideline.

So this Saturday, win or lose, the tower will shine red for JC❤️🐺

📅 Two major milestones occurred in A-State's History!

September 18, 2004 – A-State celebrated the opening of the Arkansas Biosciences Institute (ABI), the state’s major research component created through the To***co Settlement Proceeds Act. ABI continues to be a hub for groundbreaking research in agriculture, medicine, and technology.

September 18, 2015 – We cut the ribbon on the Humanities and Social Sciences Building, a four-story, 123,832 sq. ft. facility featuring 29 state-of-the-art classrooms and two 90-seat auditoriums. This building remains a cornerstone for teaching and learning on campus.

Both facilities are still used daily in shaping the future of NEA and beyond!

TEDx Arkansas State University is happening tomorrow at the Fowler Center! 🎤

Join us from 1-7pm on Friday, September 18 for an afternoon of ideas featuring A-State students, faculty, alumni, and special guests from across the country.

The program opens with ASU System President Todd Shields followed by talks exploring student research, rural communities, mentorship, rural health, Peace Corps service, and more.

Come for one session or stay for the afternoon... everyone is welcome!
