Our 6th grade Captains and Lieutenants are READY TO LEAD!

After attending the RCA House Leadership Academy, our student leaders wanted to share what they learned with their fellow 6th grade scholars and teachers. They came back with so many ideas, so much excitement, and a whole new level of confidence!

It was so fun watching them stand up, speak boldly, share their ideas, and encourage their peers. We are SO proud of the growth we have already seen in these leaders, and we cannot wait to see what they do next!

We were also excited to have Dr. Curtner join us and listen to our leaders share and you know we couldn’t let her leave without being sorted!

To celebrate Constitution Day, scholars in Mrs. Hill’s, Mrs. Liles’ and Mrs. Tucker’s homerooms worked on an escape room.

UHSMA gifted and talented scholars had a fun and enlightening visit from Dr. Philip Tew and Melanie Ricker from ASU’s Scarlett to Black program. They had scholars acting out real world scenarios and gave them all a thumbs up for practicing and learning these skills early.

After 25 years of keeping Northeast Arkansas updated on the weather, we are excited to announce his next big career move…

UHSMA SUBSTITUTE TEACHER!

We have already got him lined up for recess duty, lunch duty, and of course, keeping an eye on any storms headed our way! 😆

Distributive Doctors!

Students in Mrs. Gingras’s class used play-doh (their patients) to build arrays. Then, they used their "scalpel" to cut their array and build 2 smaller arrays. They made a distributive diagnosis based on their findings.

Steps were: Prep the patient, determine where to cut, build your diagnosis.
