Arkansas State University Museum

Got a shout-out today from KAIT for a little known milestone in the museum's history. We recently celebrated our 50th anniversary as an accredited musuem with the American Alliance of Museums.

ON THIS DAY:

In 1973, the Arkansas State University Museum became legally recognized as an integral part of Arkansas State University, issuing a statement of permanence.

It's one of the first museums in the Southeast to be accredited by the American Association of Museums.

A-State Museum will be closed from Saturday, May 23 through Monday, May 25 for the Memorial Day weekend. The museum will reopen on Tuesday, May 26 at 10 am.

Help! The Tinkering Studio is in need of Paper Towel cores and Bathroom tissue cores. As you can see, our guests have all kinds of fun with them in our wind tube and our supply is desperately low. Can you help?
Drop off at the Museum office, Gallery or the Tinkering Studio when you come to visit!

If you happen to stop by to visit the Mastodon this week, you may encounter a much larger creature. To avoid it, please use the "big columns" entrance and once inside, head straight down the hallway to enter the Mastodon gallery to your left.
