Kappa Nu Omega Chapter held our 2026 Chapter retreat, themed Leadership is H.E.R.S. — Leading with Purpose on Saturday, September 12th. It was nothing short of SENSATIONAL! It challenged us to look at leadership through four powerful lenses: Honor the Herstory, Engagement, Role Model, & Serve with Purpose.
We laughed. We shed a few tears. We shared stories. We allowed ourselves to be vulnerable. We listened, learned, encouraged one another, and gave ourselves—and each other—grace when the answers didn’t come as quickly as we would have liked.
We were reminded that leadership doesn’t always need to be the loudest voice in the room. Sometimes leadership looks like listening. Sometimes it looks like making space for someone else to shine. Sometimes it looks like asking the hard questions, admitting we don’t have all the answers, and being willing to grow together.
And sometimes, leadership is simply showing up—with purpose, with grace, and with sisterhood.
Our Herstory reminds us that we did not get here alone. Our engagement strengthens what we are building. Our role models show us what is possible. And our commitment to service gives our leadership meaning.
Here’s to leading with purpose, honoring those who came before us, lifting those beside us, and preparing those who will come after us.
