🍪 Don't Eat Your Science Project Until It's Graded!

Last Friday, Mr. Dunivan's science students created a hands-on look at the phases of the Moon using a classroom favorite—Oreo cookies! Students worked together to carefully shape the cream filling to represent the different appearances of the Moon throughout the lunar cycle.

The biggest challenge is not eating your project before securing that good grade! 🌙🍪

🧪A Low-Pressure Day in Science Lab - Literally

Ms. Terrell's students were investigating the effects of air pressure—or the lack of it—using vacuum bell jars and some interesting test materials: balloons, marshmallows, wet sponges, shaving cream, and water.

The activity gave students a chance to explore one reason astronauts need pressurized spacesuits and why those suits will be essential for any future missions to Mars. 🚀

Some of the results were definitely surprising—and a great reminder that science is fun when done! 😄

Congratulations to the 99 freshmen students who were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society yesterday! 👏

Students invited to join NJHS demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence by earning A/B Honor Roll recognition throughout the previous school year while also maintaining a clear discipline record with no office referrals.

🔥 Sparks are flying in Agricultural Mechanics!

Mr. Sanders has his freshmen in Agricultural Mechanics getting some hands-on experience with welding. Opportunities like this allow students to develop highly valued workplace skills that can open doors to future careers. Students are learning by doing, and they are developing a strong foundation for success in the skilled trades and beyond! 🔧
