๐๐ Galloping into the Year of the Horse! ๐๐
On February-10 at Campus Jonesboro and February-16 at Campus Querรฉtaro, Ms. Li Ying Chang (ๅผต็ซ็), a Mandarin Chinese instructor from the Department of World Languages and Cultures, hosted a festive Chinese Lunar New Year celebration. ๐
During the event, students learned about the origins of the Chinese zodiac and the story behind the twelve animals. They explored the special meaning of the Horse, which symbolizes energy, strength, perseverance, and freedomโencouraging us to move forward with confidence in the new year. ๐โจ
To celebrate, students created their own Year of the Horse hanging ornaments using colorful paper and traditional designs. ๐งงโ๏ธ Through this hands-on activity, they combined creativity with cultural understanding while experiencing the joy of Lunar New Year traditions.

๐๐ Snipping into the Year of the Snake! ๐๐
On February 5th, Ms. Li Ying Chang (ๅผต็ซ็), a Mandarin Chinese instructor from the Department of World Languages and Cultures, hosted a Chinese Lunar New Year celebration! ๐
To welcome the Year 2025 of the Snake, students put their incredible design with a traditional Chinese paper-cutting activity! โ๏ธ๐ With scissors in hand and paper in front of them, they carefully cut out intricate snake designsโeach one symbolizing wisdom, transformation, and good fortune in the new year.
Beyond the fun, students learned about Chinese zodiac traditions, the meaning behind paper-cut art, and the rich culture of Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations. ๐จ๐งง

๐ Mid-Autumn Festival Event in Arkansas State University โ Campus Jonesboro ! ๐
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of our Mid-Autumn Festival event.๐Ms. Li Ying Chang(ๅผต็ซ็), a Mandarin instructor from the Department of World Languages and Culture, organized a Mid-Autumn Festival event on September-18. ๐
Our students had a wonderful time learning about the history and traditions of this special festival. They enjoyed delicious mooncakes and even had fun crafting their own paper mooncakes! ๐โจ
The experience was both educational and enjoyable, with students expressing great interest and enthusiasm. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event memorable! ๐๐
