Manawanui at UHSMA

On Friday, April 24th, Abril was the Manawanui Top Tiger, having earned 41 points for our house in the past two weeks!

In our meeting, we followed a drawing tutorial video to create this super-cute Earth Day drawing, and the outcome was excellent! Our 6th graders, who worked together beautifully throughout our meeting, convened as a judging panel and named the Top 5 drawings, which they announced at the end. I don't have those names with me at the moment, and I don't think I even got pics of everyone in the Top 5, BUT we had a great time, and here are some pics to make you smile! 🧡

We played an outdoor game during our meeting today, and we must give a shout-out for Josselyn, Arra, and Peyton for helping to facilitate the game in any way they could--giving instruction and encouragement the whole way through AND making sure each grade level got back to their hallway at the end.

Parents and friends, Manawanui is incredibly fortunate in our membership. This 6th-grade team--our captain Hudson, our lieutenant Kai, and their fellow 6th-grade scholars such as Genesis, Khylie, Camila, Karter, and those mentioned above, have worked together all year long--in an unprecedented manner--to bring good things our way.

We have maintained second place in points all year long, had great success at House-a-ween for our performance, had a terrific 2nd Annual Anti-Bullying Bash, played some epic tug-of-war, built record-breaking towers in our annual STEM tower challenge, and more. As we get closer to May, I personally have started to feel the sadness that letting them go will bring, but, as they grow and move triumphantly on to junior high, I am also looking forward to this year's 5th graders moving up!! I have been **repeatedly** impressed with many of them from when they joined us in 3rd grade, and I have great expectations of what is to come!

🧡Fifth-grader, Sebastian, was awarded Top Tiger on Friday, March 13th.

🧡 Malachi (6th grade), Zaley (3rd grade), and Leilany (4th grade) were presented with their Top Tiger certificates from January and February. (Absences and schedule changes prevented getting these to them earlier.)

Jeremy was named top tiger on Friday for earning 74 house points for Manawanui in three weeks-- averaging 25 points per week! 😲🤩🧡

Our previous top tiger, named on Nov 14th, was Talyn who had earned 40 house points between Oct 25th and Nov 14th!

Kensy was awarded Top Tiger on Friday, October 24th, for having earned over 50 house points in two weeks!

Our second annual Manawanui event was a blast- a true Unity Fiesta! Our students and staff were all upbeat, smiling, cooperating, and having fun, and that creates such an uplifting and supportive environment (as do "walking tacos" AND cake 🤩). Thank you to all our families who donated food and drink. We are so very appreciative of your support.

Today Amylia was named Top Tiger for earning the most points for our house in the past two weeks. Students continued to prepare for our upcoming House-a-ween event.

🎉🌮 Unity Fiesta: Let’s TACO ’Bout Bullying! 🌮🎉

Families, we need your help to make our upcoming Manawanui Unity Fiesta a success! We’re planning to serve at least 100 people and would love donations of the following before WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 15:

🟠 Shredded lettuce
🟠 Cups, plates, and forks (preferably orange or black)
