🥣🎨 Learning at Home Can Be CEREAL-sly FUN! 💚✨

Looking for a fun, easy, and inexpensive activity to try with your little learner at home? We've got you covered! 🌈

Our little learners at The Learning Grove Academy had so much fun turning everyday cereal into colorful works of art! And the best part? You probably already have everything you need right in your kitchen! 🏡💕

🌟 TRY THIS AT HOME! 🌟

All you need:
🥣 A handful of O-shaped cereal (like Cheerios!)
🎨 A piece of construction paper
🖍️ Crayons or markers
✨ A little school glue

Here's how:
1. Have your child draw lines, shapes, letters, or even their name on the paper!
2. Help them trace their design with glue.
3. Let them carefully place cereal pieces along the glue to create their masterpiece!
4. Allow it to dry and proudly display their artwork! 🖼️

💡 WHY WE LOVE THIS ACTIVITY!

Those tiny cereal pieces are doing BIG things for your child's development!

✋ Strengthening fine motor skills needed for writing

🔢 Practicing counting, shapes, and early math

👀 Building hand-eye coordination

🧠 Encouraging focus, patience, and problem-solving

🎨 Inspiring creativity and independence

💚 Parent Tip: Make it even more educational by asking your child to count the cereal pieces, identify shapes, or practice spelling their name!

Always supervise closely, especially with younger children, and use age-appropriate materials.

At The Learning Grove Academy, we believe learning doesn't stop when the school day ends! Some of the best learning moments happen right at your kitchen table. 🏡💚

📸 We'd LOVE to see your little learner's creation! Try this activity at home and share a picture in the comments!

🗺️🏘️ Our Pre-K B classroom is learning all about their community!

Our students worked together to create their very own Community Map, featuring places they recognize and see in the world around them. From restaurants and stores to houses, parks, and other familiar locations, they’re learning how all the pieces of a community connect. 💛

Activities like this help build early geography and mapping skills, strengthen spatial awareness, encourage creativity, and spark meaningful conversations about the neighborhoods our children live in.
