Stay safe on the roads this winter by following these essential tips:

✅ Remove snow and ice from your vehicles.
✅ Slow down! Stopping distances on icy roads can increase three to ninefold.
✅ Increase distance between vehicles, as your stopping distance will increase.
✅ Be cautious on bridges and overpasses, as they become slicker.
✅ Drive smoothly with no sudden stops or turns to avoid spinning.
✅ Use your headlights.
✅ Remember: 4-wheel drive and all-wheel drive vehicles help you go, not stop.
✅ If you become stranded roadside, stay with your vehicle and have an inclement weather kit in your vehicle.
✅ If involved in a vehicle accident and vehicles are moveable, exit the roadway into a parking lot and contact law enforcement for a report.

Salvation Army
Our overnight warming shelter will open this evening starting at 4:00 pm. As temperatures fall below 32°, our overnight warming shelter will be available.

💤 Check in is between 4-5pm.
🍳 Check out is following breakfast.
🚪Check in Location: 800 Cate Ave, Jonesboro AR

🚌 Transportation to day warming shelters provided by JET - Jonesboro Economical Transportation system. Refer to the City of Jonesboro, AR - Government for the Jet Bus system information. They will transport individuals to one of the day warming centers around town on their bus routes.

🍕 As we do 365 days a year, We will serve a hot meal at 5:30pm for any in the community that is in need of sustenance.

🥶 We are thankful the city is partnering again with us to do the most good by showing love beyond Christmas as our community prepares for frigid temperatures.

Eligibility: To be eligible for child care funding, UALR students must be eligible for the Pell Grant, maintain a GPA of at least 2.0, be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours, and have a low-income status.

How it works: Student parents choose a licensed child care provider, and UA Little Rock pays the child care tuition directly to the provider on the student's behalf.
