Joliet Public Schools District 86 provides high quality public education to students in grades PreK-8.

The District covers 26.4 square miles in the city of Joliet, Illinois that includes 21 schools serving approximately 9,700 students. Joliet Public Schools District 86 is committed to educating learners for life. All stakeholders have been involved to make this a successful process. We believe that our Vision Statement, along with the Mission Statement supported by Statements of Belief will support the educational programs for all students, employees, board, parents and community.

Our District Summer Libraries at Sanchez, Thigpen and Washington schools will be open Mondays through Thursdays (June 15-July 16) from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays until July 16th. Stop by to check out books, pick up your Read to Rise prizes and keep your reading streak going all summer long.

Attention Dirksen, Gompers, Hufford and Washington families with incoming 6th graders, the Will County Health Department is hosting a free mobile clinic tomorrow (June 16) from 12-3 p.m. at Singleton school for students who qualify.

Need help registering your children for school? Beginning next week, we will have Student Registration staff available at Pershing and Singleton schools to help register any District 86 children for the upcoming school year.
