Coach Wayne L.
has been the baseball coach at JJC since 1985 and athletic director since 1995. In September of 2009, the JJC Board of Trustees named the Joliet Junior College baseball field, Wayne L. Field. King has led his teams to ten trips at the NJCAA Division III World Series including two national championships (1994, 2008), two national runner-up finishes (1995, 2007), and two third place finishes (1997, 2006).

The 2008 National Champion JJC baseball team will be honored on Saturday, May 3rd for being inducted into the Region IV Hall of Fame! A ceremony will be at 11:50 am on Wayne L. King, Jr. Field before the 12:00 pm game vs. Elgin. After the game, a reception will be held at Traditions.
