Sunshine and Rainbows Learning Center The Right Preschool For All The Right Reasons The Sunshine and Rainbows Learning Center is an extension of early learners of the Joliet Park District.

Sunshine and Rainbows Learning Center follows the Illinois Early Childhood Standards and Benchmarks. We teach children holistically and as individuals in a caring environment. In the classroom many different opportunities for learning are provided using center based exploration, sensory tubs, developmentally appropriate literacy and math lessons, props, and manipulatives. In addition each classroo

m has physical eduation and music instruction. Our Learning Center uses the "Handwriting Without Tears" method for teaching pre-writing and printing skills. Computer time is also available that helps reinforce colors, shapes, patterns, and letter recognition through the use of the mouse and keyboard. The purpose of the Joliet Park District page is to inform the public about the Park District’s programs, activities, events and news. This page is not monitored 24 hours a day 7 days a week and, as such, posts and responses from the Park District should not be immediately expected. The Park District typically monitors this site during office hours (Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm). Today, the Green Tree Frogs and the Orange Tabby Cats were surprised with end-of-year award ceremonies! 💚🐸🧡🐱

All year long, we have talked about how each of us has special gifts to share with others — not gifts wrapped in paper or bought at the store, but gifts from our hearts, minds, and creativity. Today, each child received a special award ribbon from their teachers along with encouraging words and praise celebrating the unique qualities they bring to our classroom family.

We hope they shared what their ribbon was for! Their smiles, excitement, and the applause from their classmates made today so special and unforgettable. We are so proud of each and every one of them.
