Joliet Central Visuals Art and Photography the are SPC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS!!!

11 students were selected to compete in various categories against the 11 schools in our competitive conference. So proud of our Amazing Art (Nyssa Grzyb and RachelLaVine) and Photo departments (Anne Zmuda). While the 3 judges from NIU were judging the show, students participated in various art workshops!

Illinois Art Education 2024 Youth Art Month High School Winner - The Times Weekly Mia Cardenas, a sophomore at Joliet Central High School, is the 2024 Illinois Art Education Association Youth Art Month Winner in the High School Category, and her artwork, "Aventuras de Ensueno: Dream Adventures," is featured in the 2024 poster.

Another year of the Joliet’s finest teen artists showcasing their portfolios to visual arts schools preparing for college and career readiness at the IHSAE Mini Portfolio Day!

The Herald a news wrote a story about Janet Medina’s perfect AP Art Score! She is the first person to get a PERFECT in school history! Mrs. LaVine and I couldn’t be more proud of Janet Medina and all of her amazing accomplishments! Less than 1% of students WORLDWIDE received a PERFECT score on their AP Studio Art portfolios this past year! She is currently a freshmen at SAIC! Janet, we can’t wait to watch your where your artistic talent takes you in the future! We know you will be a success! Bravo! .

Joliet Central grad in elite group with perfect score in AP art exam Janet Medina, who graduated in 2023 from Joliet Central, was one of 337 students in the world to earn every point possible on the AP 2-D Art and Design Exam.

We are so proud to announce that Janet Medina received a PERFECT score on her AP 2D Art portfolio! This is an extremely rare achievement that only 337 students world wide accomplished, which is less than 1% of all AP Art and Design Portfolios submitted in 2023. Janet is an outstanding student and artist, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for her as she pursues her Art career at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago!
