Students in GJCTC’s Adult Education Electrical and HVAC programs recently had the opportunity to tour Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber to get a behind-the-scenes look at facility operations in a real-world healthcare setting.

During the visit, members of the hospital’s Human Resources and Maintenance departments guided students through the building, sharing valuable insights into the systems that keep the facility running safely and efficiently.

Experiences like this help connect classroom learning to career opportunities, giving our adult students a better understanding of what to expect in the field. Thank you to the team at Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber for hosting our students and supporting workforce development! 🔧⚡

🚗🔧 GJCTC Auto Tech Students Hit the Road! 🔧🚗

Our Auto Technology students had an incredible opportunity in May as they traveled to the Carlisle Fairgrounds for the Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals!

This exciting event featured over 2,200 imported and performance vehicles, giving students a firsthand look at the latest trends, custom builds, and innovations in the automotive world.

From high-energy drifting demonstrations to autocross competitions, there was no shortage of action.

Experiences like this bring classroom learning to life and help our students connect their skills to real-world applications in the automotive industry.

👏 Great job to our students for representing GJCTC and making the most of this hands-on learning experience!

ATTENTION PARENTS OF RETURNING GJCTC HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we prepare for the 2026/2027 school year, the Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center will be utilizing eSchoolData, a student information system that will allow families to complete beginning-of-the-year forms digitally through a Parent Portal.

In order to create Parent Portal accounts and provide access to required school forms, we are asking all parents and guardians of returning high school students to provide an active email address. Please provide a current and accessible email address to Jen Steele, high school secretary, at [email protected] by Friday, June 12th. Over the summer, specific directions for account creation and portal access will be sent to the email address you provide.

The creation of Parent Portal accounts will also allow families to access real-time student grade and attendance information throughout the school year, improving communication and providing families with easier access to important student information.

This transition is part of our effort to align our practices with our sending school districts, many of which have already transitioned, or are currently transitioning, to digital platforms for required school forms and parent communication.

We appreciate your patience and support as we work through this transition. While we anticipate there may be a few bumps in the road as we learn this new system, we are confident that this change will create a more efficient and convenient process for families moving forward.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance as we modernize our systems and improve communication and accessibility for our families!

PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS POST WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION, ALL REQUESTED INFORMATION SHOULD BE SENT TO: Jen Steele, high school secretary, at [email protected] by Friday, June 12th.
