Karol Ann Zwiener

June 1, 1942 - January 4, 2022

ZWIENER— Karol Ann, 79, Seward, passed away January 4, 2022, at Windber Hospice. Born June 1, 1942, in Johnstown, the daughter of John and Amelia (Gertz) Kirchner. Preceded in death by parents; loving husband, Thomas F. Zwiener, who died January 22, 1996; and brother-in-law, Ray Plaza. Survived by daughter, Heidi, wife of Daniel Westrick, Nicktown; sister, Joyce Plaza, Johnstown; niece, Amy (Tony) Rozich, their children, Maddie, Taylor and Cassidy; nephew, Christopher (Cathi) Plaza, their children, Brady and Rosie; and her close cousin, Horace 'Herk' (Connie) Hubbard Jr. Karol is also survived by her friend, David, who was like a son to her, each day they walked several miles together and enjoyed many sunny days together. Formerly employed by Laurel Wood Convalescent Home. Member

of Trinity Lutheran Evangelical Church, Johnstown. Karol loved life and was always happy to help those in need. She enjoyed playing scratch lottery tickets, spending time at the home of her daughter Heidi and visiting with neighbors and friends. Honoring Karol's wishes there will be no viewing or visitation. Family and friends are invited to graveside services which will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, in Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown. Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc. Northern Cambria in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karol's memory to Windber Hospice.
