DYK: The Essential Workplace Skills in Healthcare Occupations and the Nurse Aide diploma program and provides instruction in basic nursing assistant skills such as transferring a patient? During this lesson, students had the opportunity to practice the skill with each other through hands-on learning using real-world tools and devices.

The fun, engaging hands-on learning in the Early Childhood Education program comes to life during student practicums at community daycare centers.
In this case, our CTI at HGAC student implemented a fine motor lesson she developed for young toddlers – a creative chalk and water activity that encouraged learning through play and exploration.

In honor of Memorial Day, recreation staff and student volunteers honored our heroes at the Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown.
They braved the rain and placed around 2,200 flags on veteran's graves, honoring the memory of those who gave their lives in service to our country.
Volunteers also enjoyed some refreshments thanks to VFW Post 155.

Recreation at CTI at HGAC offers a variety of recreational opportunities for students to unwind and stay active after a day in the classroom.
Summer activities include fishing, swimming, baseball games, local community events and more.

Basic first aid skills are an important foundation for careers in allied health.
Recently, students from our Early Childhood Education, Nurse Aide, and ASB Medical Office Assistant programs gained valuable hands-on experience in basic first aid as part of their training, led by our Nurse Aide instructor.
