We are excited for the start of another school year! A new school year means a new Flower of the Month subscription! We are happy to have 62 students in our Plant Science pathway this year who are ready and excited to get started in September. By supporting our flower of the month arrangement program you will receive a themed floral arrangement worth a minimum of $30.00 (your investment), all made by the students themselves! If you are interested in supporting our program, the sign-up link is attached here! We've also included photos of previous arrangements for reference! Thank you so much for your support!

This last week we found out our FFA chapter was rated a 3-star chapter, which is the highest rating an FFA Chapter can receive on the National Level! In fact, less than 10% of chapters in the nation received this designation this year! We are so extremely proud of our ffa members who make this possible!

The National Chapter Award Program is designed to recognize FFA chapters that actively implement the mission and strategies of the organization. These chapters improve chapter operations using the National Quality Chapter Standards (NQCS) and a Program of Activities (POA) that emphasize growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture. Chapters are rewarded for providing educational experiences for the entire membership. The chapter must complete at least fifteen activities a year (one for each of the five quality standards in each of the three divisions).

We want to take a moment to specifically recognize the work of our FFA officer teams over the past four years. We decided to start working on our National Chapter application from scratch four years ago. It has taken so much time and dedication by all the officers on these teams creating events, taking photos, setting goals, reflecting on events, etc. We couldn’t have done it without our young leaders taking initiative and putting in the hours of work it’s taken to reach this milestone!

This distinction is a HUGE honor for our chapter, our advisors, and our members both present and past. We will be honored at National Convention this October in Indianapolis, and are also eligible for a National Premier Chapter Award as well as a Models of Excellence Award to be announced at convention.

Finally, we want to thank our amazing community for all your support! Our students wouldn’t be as successful as they were without your support at our events, donations for labor and silent auction, volunteering to help coach our teams, employing our members, and so much more!

⭐️National Chapter Awards⭐️ Colorado FFA is so proud of all of our chapters who have worked so hard to exemplify National FFA’s mission to grow leaders, build communities, and strengthen agriculture. 3-Star⭐️⭐️⭐️: Roosevelt FFA, Valley FFA, Windsor FFA 2-Star⭐️⭐️: Arickaree FFA, Greeley FFA, Hayden FFA, Manzanola FFA, McClave FFA, Platte Valley FFA, Poudre FFA, Weld Central FFA. 1-Star⭐️: Florence FFA

This week our ag teachers attended CVATA (Colorado Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association) Summer conference hosted in Holyoke, Colorado!

Thank you to the agricultural educators from districts 15 and 16 for hosting us this week. They provided us excellent facilities, meals, and tours, making the week well worth it!

We were able to attend workshops testing our electrical skills, working with CDA’s emergency management team on how FFA members fit into ag disaster response, learn about how playas impact water conservation, explore curriculum options to continue to improve our content knowledge, and so much more.

There were also excellent tours of local agriculture facilities including Mummy Hill Winery, CHS Shuttle Facility, Camelot Dairy, and Godsey Precision Agriculture. During one of our meals we were able to have a presentation from local Paquime dancers which was a huge honor!

While it may be summer, your ag teachers are busy working, and this is just one piece. We love the opportunity to spend time with other Colorado agricultural teachers enjoying each others company and learning from one another!
