Former HFM CTE Criminal Justice student Jillian Bazan recently returned to campus, this time as a New York State Police Trooper.

A 2021 graduate of Broadalbin-Perth Central School District, Bazan met with our Criminal Justice students to discuss her journey into law enforcement, her training at the New York State Police Academy, and what life is like as a trooper.

Visits like these give students the opportunity to connect what they're learning in the classroom to real career experiences, especially when those experiences are shared by someone who started in the very same program

The New Visions Health students along with the staff at Nathan Littauer Hospital participated in the Teddy Bear Hospital on Monday. The goal for Teddy Bear Hospital was simple: to help children become more comfortable with hospitals, healthcare professionals, and medical procedures while creating positive, lasting memories. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for students to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young patients while gaining valuable hands-on experience in healthcare. A big thank you to everyone involved in making this special day a success! 🧸🧸

This week, our Fire Science students attended the New York State Fallen Firefighters Memorial Ceremony at the Empire State Plaza, honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

While in Albany, they also visited the New York State Museum, where they viewed artifacts from September 11, 2001, and learned more about the FDNY's response and the sacrifices made that day.

It was a meaningful day of remembrance, reflection, and learning.

We are looking for more businesses to register for Career Con Presented by GlobalFoundries on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at SUNY Fulton-Montgomery Community College! We are thrilled to partner with you to give local 8th and 9th-grade students a hands-on look at potential career paths.
Here are important updates on the schedule and tips to prepare for the day:
Event Day Schedule
• 7:30 AM: Booth Setup Begins (FMCC Gymnasium or Outside)
• 8:45 AM – 1:15 PM: Event Hours
o Session 1: 8:52 AM – 10:00 AM
o Session 2: 10:25 AM – 11:33 AM
o Session 3: 12:00 PM – 1:07 PM
• Post-Event: Lunch provided by HFM CTE Culinary Arts students
Session Structure & Booth Tips
Each main session window is split into four 15-minute rotation blocks, allowing student groups to freely explore and visit tables throughout the area.
To maximize student engagement:
• Keep Pitches Short: Deliver a brief 1- to 3-minute elevator pitch about your field.
• Make It Interactive: Bring hands-on activities, quick visual displays, simulators, or games to give students an active experience as they visit your table.
