It's been a long time since my last update.
The apiary is doing fine. We had some losses over the winter but splits more than made up for that.
It is nice to be able to sit out in the yard again and watch their coming and goings.

Pulled a couple of supers yesterday. Working on extracting them now. I'm amazed at how light the honey is.

Been a busy swarm season so far.

finally got time and weather to take a serious look into my surviving colonies and the new package installs.
4 out of the 4 packages have settled in nicely. All of the queens are laying good patterns.
I am glad I got the chance to take a deeper look because another few days would have seen capped queen cells and imminent swarming conditions.
I was able to split three of the 6 that made it through winter. Nothing fancy. Walk away splits. I'll check them next week to see who is getting a new queen.
