Congratulations to the 11 J-E-T band students who prepared and completed their All Region Band audition, most for the first time. A very valuable experience...and 4 were seated in All Region Band and 2 received All State call backs.

Almost 70 new J-E-T band students are currently ordering and searching for instruments. If you have any instrument(s) sitting around, please let me know, and I will help find it a "new home". BTW, I just found and purchased a "great deal" in Columbia. A Grandmother who was very happy to sell it to our program. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🎶🎶🎶. Thank you!!!

BTW, shiny new brands, that are extremely inexpensive; but, not able to be played in tune, or they are either irreparable, or very expensive to repair, are NOT what we need or want. Got plenty of those in my closet that I plan to use to teach the proper way to assemble, take apart and care for their personal instrument...unless they are free.

Students are studying flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium/baritone, tuba, percussion, bass/rhythm guitar and piano at J-E-T this year and will be given opportunities to study privately, in small groups and in socially distanced classes.

Band rocks!!! Music, when taught as a language, is a life-long skill. ❤️🎶🙂

As I think about how many olympians, athletes are also musicians or artists, I realize they often use both talents to manage the stress of success.

And...success is not just a gold medal or a medal at all, but knowing you worked passionately at something you love. The rewards may be learning to accept defeat and keep on trying and, most importantly, congratulate those who on that particular day are better than you at that certain thing.

Nobody should ever expect to know everything about anything and hopefully their passion for learning will never fade.
