What an amazing end of the year we had at Horizon. ☀️We kicked it off with the End of the year assembly! Thank you to all who had a part in making it great! The slideshow was incredible, thanks to Mrs. Westergaard. It was awesome to see our year in review! We also had the chance to honor our retiring staff members: our school nurse Nurse Keri, 1st grade teacher Mrs. Heikes, 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Schaefer, and Band/Music teacher Mrs. Petersen. We gave out math awards to some amazing math students. Thank you also to Harrison Burkhardt for giving our students some encouraging words! I hope our students look for the good in everything! We also got to clap out our 5th graders at the end of the day and wave to all of our amazing kiddos and wish them a happy summer! Thank you Horizon for a fabulous year. 🎤To our Performers: You stepped into the spotlight and blew us away with your courage and creativity. Whether you sang, danced, or shared a hidden skill, you reminded us how leaders can use their talents to inspire others!

💡 To our Student Lighthouse Team: A huge shout out to the "behind-the-scenes" heroes who helped with our Dragon Roar/Voice Level signs and transitions from one act to the next. Your leadership and love for making Horizon awesome does not go unnoticed!

🍎 To our Incredible Staff: Thank you for believing in these students and putting in time to help make this day a success down to the last detail. This show wouldn’t have left the ground without your dedication and leadership.

Epi-pens, inhalers, vision screeners, a full-size skeleton replica! These are just a few of the essentials in Horizon nurse Keri Kuper’s office. After 19 years with the district, Keri will retire at the end of the school year. Thank you, Keri, for your dedication to JCSD!

Today, on National School Nurse’s Day, we are highlighting the work that all our school nurses put in to protect and promote student health and advance academic success. Thank you for being the bridge between health care and education!

Horizon Elementary has been working on our WIGS(wildly important goals)! So proud of our staff and students for setting and meeting their goals!!
